The Magpies registered their first official victory of the season with a final score of two goals to no, and also the first victory for the new coach Charles Borg. This victory removes Rabat from the last place in the league, with hopes of avoiding relegation.

The match was equally balanced between the two teams, with opportunities on both sides. On the Magpies side, there was the debut of the foreigner Vilson Caushi, which in my opinion was the best player on the pitch. He continuously offered precise passing, good vision of the match, and also through balls for the attackers.

Both goals for the Magpies were scored late in the second half. The first goal started from a long pass by Vilson Caushi to Adrian Mifsud, which he then continued to Adam Smeir that he easily scored. The second goal was scored from a penalty-kick, were Adam Smeir was tackled inside the area, leaving the referee with no choice but to order a penalty-kick. This was taken by Vilson Caushi who scored a merited goal on his debut for the Magpies.
